This is a 3D sculpture made using only of basic bricks, to replicate the pixel style of the iconic old school Sonic (not meant to be an exact representation), and by that i’m referring to the version from the 8-bit, 16-bit and 32-bit console generations, the modern Sonic character has a redesigned appearance.
It uses exactly 1032 pieces, i believe this could be further optimized with more time. The main colors are blue, white, tan, red with a bit of black and dark red. I used black on the pieces hidden from sight, you can use another color if you prefer.
I consider it to be medium sized, having a height of 37cm (39 stacked bricks), being 17cm wide (21 studs), and 21cm long (26 studs). It’s at a nice scale that allowed me to implement all necessary details to mak eit easily recognizable.
Details include the sneakers with the white stripe, the sole in dark red and the white socks; Sonic’s little tail; modeled hands with a visible thumb; the eyes looking forward and the small pointy nose which isn’t perfectly centered; modeled ears; and of course, the spines on the back grouped into 7 spikes.
The digital instructions were made with studio and rendered at 4x, they consist of 63 steps, and let me tell you this is not an easy build: Sonic’s back for example is very detailed and intricate with its 7 spikes, you’ll need to look very closely to see where every piece goes, a good amount of patience will be needed to build this one.
